WHAT TO EXPECT

The People:

Here at Walnut Grove church of Christ, you will find a group of individuals that come from many different backgrounds. We understand that people are at different points in their spiritual journeys, and we want you to know that we are all in this together.

Prayer:

We believe in the power of prayer and the impact it has had throughout time (Acts 2:42). Prayer is necessary to make our requests known to God (Philippians 4:6). Due to this, it is an important part of our worship service.

​

Singing:

Along with prayer, we sing and make melody with our hearts (Ephesians 5:19) during worship. We use our voices to sing praises to God.

Preaching and Invitation: 

During each service, you will hear a sermon from our minister. Following the sermon, we offer the invitation for those in need of spiritual help.

The Lord's Supper:

Just as we see the early Christians do in Acts 20:7, we partake in the Lord's Supper every first day of the week. We use unleavened bread and grape juice to help us remember Jesus's ultimate sacrifice on the cross. The Lord's Supper humbles us and urges us to show gratitude to Christ for dying so that we may be forgiven of our sins.

Contribution:

Following the Lord's Supper, we pass around a collection plate as early Christians did in 1 Corinthians 16:1-2. The contributions collected are used to support the Church and help further the Gospel.

Class:

Classes are offered for all ages. Classes start at 9:30 AM on Sunday Morning and Wednesday Night at 7:00 PM.
